If Jesus Came Back Today
“But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
(Luke 21:34-36)
If He came today, what would you want Him to find you doing?
Pursuing things that are only temporary?
Or living simply, grateful for the blessings He has given you.
If He came today, how do you want Him to find you?
Weighed down with the worries of this life? Occupied with selfish ambitions? Giving little thought to the life that will come after death?
Or focused on loving others intentionally. Living with heaven in mind, and busy serving in His kingdom in whatever way He has called you to.
If we were to step into eternity, let God find us living not for ourselves, but for Him.
Not seeking pleasure alone, but filled with joy which can never be stolen.
Let Him find us tending to the ones who the world has cast aside. Advocating for the value of those the Lord dearly loved.
Loving those God has put in your path.
Reaching out to those who need to know there is One that loves them perfectly.
To be walking in holiness, not to earn salvation, but because of the work of the Holy Spirit inside the believer’s heart. For He has awakened the deadened heart.
Pursuing the One true God, and standing for what is true, even if it means standing alone.
Let Him find our hearts full, our minds occupied with the things of God, and our hands busy doing His work, whatever that looks like for the individual.
For this life is short.
So if He came today, how do you want Him to find you?
Because He might.
