God Sees You
“The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.” (Psalm 14:2)
Sarah found herself growing older every day, barren with only the promise of an heir to hold onto. She walked toward this new land, skeptical of what her future would hold. Yet she followed her husband, who listened to the voice of God when He said to leave everything behind.
Hagar was in a desert, mistreated and broken inside. Carrying a child within her, she was found by God at a spring of water. Feeling alone, she was seen by the Creator of her heart.
David stepped towards the river, searching for stones needed to defeat the Philistine giant. Confident in his steps, David looked up at the One who was strengthening Him. Then, placing His trust in the steady hand of Go, David grabbed the rocks and made his way toward the battlefield.
Paul was tormented by a thorn in his flesh, what he knew to be a hindrance in his life. He prayed earnestly for healing, wanting to experience relief in whatever capacity was needed. God looked upon Paul lovingly and said, “my grace is enough for you.” For Paul was learning to become dependent on His Father alone.
The Apostle John set his eyes upon the horizon, watching as the waters crashed against the rocky shore. Banished to the island of Patmos, John reflected on life, his time spent with Jesus during his life on earth, and the miles he had traveled to preach the Good News. Then, as John’s life drew near the end, he looked up toward the heavens, eagerly awaiting his eternal home.
These people all found themselves in different situations. Yet they had this in common; they relied on God and were fully seen by Him.
I don’t know where you find yourself today. Perhaps your heart is restless from the tensions going on in the world. Or you are rejoicing for the new blessings God has given to you. Perhaps you are grieving the loss of someone dear to you, or you find your soul resting more in the truth that heaven is our home and we are simply passing through.
Wherever you are, I pray that you find comfort in this; God sees you. And if you surrender your life and the weight you are carrying to Him, you will find the peace that can only be given by the loving Father.
This does not always mean that our circumstances will be different by tomorrow. But if we are open, God can transform the one thing that is the hardest to change: our own hearts.
So as you go throughout this week, my prayer is that you would surrender to the God who sees you, for He has never given up on you.
Blessings,

Thank you Kelly.
This helped me with what we discussed this morning during our devotions at the office. To find contentment I need to look to God my Creator. No matter the burden, trial or triumph, look to my Lord and Saviour.
I look forward to more of your blog.
Thank you Sarah! So happy to hear you were encouraged. Many blessings <3
