A Letter to the Broken Hearted
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” -Psalm 147:3
What do you say to a broken heart? To one who is anxious and afraid. Who would rather hide than be brought into the light? Who is filled with uncertainty or finds their hearts burdened by the weight of their circumstances? Who finds themselves pruned within this season?
Dear Brokenhearted,
Pour out your heart to your loving Heavenly Father, the everlasting one. For He sees your tears and bottles them up (Psalm 56:8). The Lord knows your pain and is the comforter of your soul. Once He was a man, and does not simply sympathize with your weakness but empathizes with it (Hebrews 4:15-16). Your pain is not in vain. Your wounds are not ignored. Nor His promises shaken. Cast your burdens upon Him, for He cares very much for you (Psalm 55:22).
The Lord is not hiding from you. On the contrary, he longs to be close to you. You are the lost sheep, and He is the Good Shepherd who tends diligently to His flock (Psalm 23:1). He came for you and waited patiently for your return (Luke 15:5-7). The Lord longs for you to seek Him with all your heart. And He hears you when you call. (Jeremiah 29:12-13).
He is not withholding things from you without knowing exactly what is best for you and when you need it (Rom. 8:28). The Lord knows the plans He has for you to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). He who formed you know exactly what your heart desires, for when you delight in the Lord, He will make your desires one with His and grant them in His perfect timing (Psalm 37:4).
Find rest in the One who formed you. Who knew you long before you were born (Psalm 139:13-16). And once again, your heart will find words to praise your Savior (Psalm 42:6). For He inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). So praise Him in the waiting. Praise Him in the quiet. Praise Him from the depths of your heart.
Stay the course, for your heart, can find rest in the one who promises perfect peace, to the one who keeps their eyes on the Author of life (Isaiah 26:3). He who is true light will bring forth light onto your circumstances. So keep your eyes fixed upon Him, and the Lord of your life will continue to guide you. Trust your Heavenly Father, for He is good.
Be still before your Maker (Psalm 46:10). Wait patiently for Him. (Psalm 27:14).
Keep going, child, for you, do not walk alone.
Sincerely,

Thank you for this Kelly. It is an excellent reminder of God’s love for us. He is so faithful. 😊

I’m glad to hear that it spoke to you. God’s love is so amazing, so real even when we don’t feel it at times.
Praying for you, and love you very much! <3
